Upper West Side
Ghemo - Georgian Cuisine
Located on the Upper West Side, Ghemo is a Georgian wine bar and restaurant that introduces the richness of Georgian cuisine and wine culture to a neighborhood setting. The concept brings together authentic dishes — khachapuri, shared plates, and traditional recipes — with a curated selection of Georgian wines, creating a space rooted in hospitality and conviviality.

The interior balances warmth and restraint through textured plaster walls, dark wood millwork, and softly diffused lighting. Intimate seating areas and a central bar encourage gathering, while arched openings and layered shelving subtly reference vernacular Georgian architecture without relying on pastiche. Material contrasts between light and dark surfaces create depth and rhythm throughout the space.
An adjacent bakery extends the experience beyond the dining room, offering freshly baked, ready-to-go khachapuri in a variety of styles. Together, the restaurant and bakery form a cohesive destination — one that celebrates Georgian tradition while fitting naturally into the everyday life of the Upper West Side.
